The City of Portsmouth is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Assistant to the City Manager.  Under general supervision, this position serves as an integral member of the Executive Management Team responsible for providing leadership support to the City Manager.

Applicants must be able to plan and recommend organizational policies and performance strategies; provide a variety of specialized complex administrative and management analysis to support decision making and strategic direction.  Applicants will perform a wide variety of responsible, complex and confidential administrative duties in support of the City Manager, duties that require considerable confidentiality, initiative, tact, mature and independent judgement; strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
